Happy Earth Day! We celebrated by cleaning up our local beaches. The kids had a ton of fun.
I have never heard someone yell "Look! A bandaid!" with so much joy in their voices.
They said it was like Easter. We had to be careful because the wind kept stealing the garbage right out of our hands!
We are so lucky to live in such an amazing place, and we are all very happy to help keep it beautiful and clean.
It was a misty, sunny, rainy, windy, cloudy, warm typical kind of Spring day on the coast.
The local senior center offered free soup and cookies for all the helpers. Avalon looks appropriately like a Campbell's soup kid, while licking split pea off her fingers :) Grandma volunteered to serve soup.
Then we bought a WHOLE BUNCH of pretty trees to take home with us. Corkscrew willows and coral twig dogwoods.
